COVID-19: Coronavirus Response Act and Employee Benefits

Join us for a webinar for employers and group health plan sponsors on COVID-19. We’ll review recent state and the federal guidance for employers in response to the coronavirus pandemic. We’ll discuss employment and benefits issues facing employers who have had to lay off or furlough employees. We’ll also cover the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which passed the House of Representatives on March 14 (then revised on March 16) and includes emergency paid sick leave and job-protected paid family and medical leave. The Act will be considered by the Senate the week of March 16, where it’s expected to pass – although possibly with additional changes. The Act applies to employers with less than 500 employees, primarily because there are tax credits to assist employers in paying employees.
